Today I bring you Ingenious Manipulations

20-01-15 The prisoner of Conscience. by bjman

The Prisoner of Conscience by bjman

I often wonder what titles imply. For instance does having a conscience make you a prisoner? for without imposed morality would we not all be predatory animals. Does the brick wall background signify strength of character or was it just a handy background. Certainly a thought provoking piece.

Leonardo Forever by Direct2Brain

Leonardo Forever by Direct2Brain

This UF manip dates back to 2012 and is a perfect example of what can be created using the import tool and imagination. The background (I think) is one of Da Vinci's invention notations. Can't credit source there! :)

the deep end by AI-Visions

The Deep End by AI-Visions

Preparing these weekly features over the past year has encouraged me to look around. I found this little gem sitting around in a whole gallery of little gems. Some one once poked around in my gallery and said "What no comments on this beautiful piece, I am surprised". I echo those sentiments. Go poke!!!

En Pointe by MarkJayBee

En Pointe by MarkJayBee

Here we see a "Mandelbox" added to a background in a way that gives it size, dimension and Omnipresence (had to look that word up to make sure I had it in the right context)

Beneath the shadow by Serdar-T

Beneath The Shadow by Serdar-T

Totally amasing stuff. This is reminiscent of Edvard Munch or Rene Magritte. This dark and sinister shadow is almost part of the paving stones and yet it/he has a very palpable presence.

Today I tried to find 'Bright and Shiny' pretties for you

Volcano Ven by Dmitry-Bitus

Volcano Ven by Dmitry-Bitus

Rising up out of the mists come smoky dragon nebulas forming a volcanic centre. Beautifully controlled colours give a misty dreamy quality to this piece.

Empire of Armodan by DorianoArt

Empire of Amodan by DorianoArt

Where is this brightly jewelled wonderland where ornate turrets rise from desert landscapes and tents made from mother of pearl reflect the morning sunrise.

SilverFractal by VBmonkey26

Fractal4D3E3 by VBmonkey26

Perfectly balanced shape and colouring. You can almost feel the shiny metallic surface.

Windigo by aartika-fractal-art

Windingo by aartika-fractal-art

What IS a Windingo I asked myself. Apparently it's "a cannibalistic creature of Algonquian mythology believed to have been a lost hunter forced by hunger to eat human flesh and thereafter to have become a crazed man-eating ogre roaming the forest". So - now you know. All joking aside the symmetry in this piece is quite compelling - like classy block paving!

AWC 58 - Transform Bulimia ( Canne d'Arme ) by WestOz64

AWC58-Transform Bulimia (Canne D'Arme) by WestOz64

Another title that perplexed me. I would guess it's a call to combat, Bulimia being the antagonist. All in all a beautifully coloured, composed and rendered piece.

In this feature I wanted to bring you fantasy and surreal. I have long been a fan of the surreal, spending many hours musing over the art of Salvador Dali, Rene Magritte, Giorgio de Chirico and others. Today with digital media and fractals we have the tools to re create and emulate their ground breaking styles. All it takes is imagination and knowledge of your medium.

Temptation of the Fractalic Mystical Daliphants by MANDELWERK

Temptation of the Fractalic Mystical Daliphants by :iconmandelwerk: - a surreal Daliesque landscape stalked by nightmarish edifices on tall spindly legs.

In Sight by Mariano-PetitDeMurat

In Sight by :iconmariano-petitdemurat: a surreal, mixed media piece that could well have been generated in a fractal programme.  The eye having been dubbed the window of the soul, these fascinating orbs continue to be a source of creative inspiration.

Fantasy landscape (Tutorial/workshop jonas de Ro) by Guy-Mandude

Fantasy landscape (Tutorial workshop jonas de ro) by :iconguy-mandude: We have all seen landscapes generated in fractal software, This digital piece, in its razor sharp teeth-like rocks and smoky atmosphere is reminiscent of many fractal manips.

Dragon's Layer by AnnaKirsten

Dragon's Layer by :iconannakirsten: Anna is master of the Surreal and fantasy landscape. Largely generated in Mandelbulb we see a hostile and alien landscape, punctuated by her signature Ultra Fractal trees where mythical creatures hide in plain sight.

The wave by tadp0l3

The wave by tadp0l3 Finally a wave of pure energy that shatters a planet and fires your imagination. Listed as Surreal, mixed media. The small exploding planet, though naive in execution, gives perspective and dimension to the wave of pure colour and lifts it out of the humdrum into something extraordinary.

CHRISTMAS FEATURES 2014

Sat Nov 29, 2014, 6:13 AM

Hello one and all

Snowing by KmyGraphicFor the next few weeks :icondouble-ducks: and :icondailyfractalfeatures: will be collecting Christmas Cards and Christmas Art.

You may submit up to three pieces of work.
I am going to try and feature all the week before Christmas both here and in these groups:

:icondouble-ducks: :iconfractalicious-lights: :icondailyfractalfeatures: :iconfractal-museum: :iconclassicallydigital: :iconabstract-arts:

Lights up my way home by KmyGraphicYou may wish to dedicate your work to a friend, say thank you to some one who has done something for you or just make some art with a Christmas theme.

Please note: We try to be inclusive so if you wish to paint or produce something digitally that is figurative then we will be happy to accept it

After Thoughts

Please do not submit three pieces of work that are different to each group. You may submit three in total twice to both galleries or three in total to just one and not the other group.   But they must be the same three and only three in total.
