Themes/Ideas to choose from:-

White Christmas
:bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen:

This one gives you lots of scope.  You can try making fractal snowmen, icicles, snowdrifts and tree landscapes or just keep it abstract and limit your palette.

Holy Night
:bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen:

Night skies are deep and dark.  Everything is silhouetted against the backdrop of the sky and the moon may well give birth.  Figurative or abstract, with or without seasonal symbols.

Glitz and Glamour Xmas
:bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen::bulletgreen:

This one is an opportunity to pull out all the stops.  Think decorations, think colour, think rich pattern and detail.

:bulletred::bulletred::bulletred::bulletred:

1. Works submitted must be Christmas themed.
2. All works should have a link to this group and the challenge in the details.

Something I've forgotten?  Note me under this journal :)   Hurray! by KmyGraphic
It is with great sadness that I need to inform you today's feature will be our last.

It has not been an easy decision for us to make but we have decided to close the group. :icondailyfractalfeatures: was originally set up to seek out new or overlooked artists and to present a daily feature. However with admin staff leaving, difficulty in recruiting new admin, myself and Sabine only stepping in to help out temporarily, and all of us including Maureen simply not having the time, we do not feel able to continue with the group in the manner it was intended to run. We would struggle to bring you regular features in the way you have become accustomed to and we don't want to see this turning into a group that is only open for submissions.

Hug We want to thank every one of our dear members over the years for all your contributions and support Hug

:icondailyfractalfeatures: is now closed to submissions but will remain open for the next couple of weeks so everyone has a chance to view and comment on this feature.

I am doing things a bit differently this time and in a moment I will present a selection of art chosen by myself, Sabine and Maureen,  but first I want to feature fractals from our admins past and present and say thank you to you all Love and sorry if there is anyone I have missed out (we went as far back as we could in our groups history). Hug

:bulletred:Please note

You may have experienced  trouble submitting works to any of the groups you are a member of on D.A.  This is because Deviant Art have imposed submission restrictions on all groups on Deviant Art without prior consultation.  I have contacted the help desk and, as a result of advice recieved, reset all permissions.  If you still experience problems after today - 16th September 2016 then please let me know.

Lost in the Woods by :iconpupukuusikko:

The twisted shapes in this piece bring to mind a little ryhme I used to quote to my children "It wasn't very good in the dark dark wood, in the middle of the night when their wasn't any light" - Enid Blyton

Coral Sea by Shadoweddancer

Coral Sea by :iconshadoweddancer:

UF users all feel the need, sooner or later, to create realities, and Sid  has made a Sterling effort with this seascape.  We really aught to have an Ultra Fractal book of records with an entry for the most layers ever used in a fractal.

Something a bit different today.  I thought it might be nice to see the works of a much admired and oft times sourced artist whose works some of you may recognise.

Gary Webb

Gary posts his works in Mandelbulb Maniacs, a very successfull Facebook group, run by :icondsynegrafix:  The piece below is entitled "Congratulations, You're Having Twins!" and was made for one of the groups regular challenges.

In case you are worried about copyright, I did ask Gary's permission some weeks ago.He says he can't access Deviant Art due to not having parental permission!

Scenes from A Waking Dream is a series of earlier works by Gary created back in 2014

One of my own personal favourites (probably the first of Gary's I saw).  Gary calls it "Noodle Soup" - An imaginative blend of fractal and Photoshopped elements.

One more for the road....Scary but compelling stuff don't you think?

Castle of Darkness and Doom by PaMonk

Castle of Darkness and Doom by :iconpamonk:

I can only compare this to a tenement block or high rise flats in a war torn country.  The morning mist rises and reveals the devastation of the nights bombing raid.  Apartment interiors laid open to the elements with small fires still burning in the devastation.  A starkly realistic and unnerving scene.

                                            Wind Blown Lighthouse by HalTenny

Wind Blown Lighthouse by :iconhaltenny:

Hal describes this as built to withstand the elements out of flexible stone and iron. I imagine this on some long abandoned, alien shored, archipelaego, long since abandoned by its constructors who are busy challenging Newton's Law somewhere else.

Nice to see a new piece from Ross.  This one is generated in Fractal Science kit using Newton's. No theory of relativity involved this time.
